Roga, others, thanks for the ammo advice...
#1
found a new shipment at Academy and was able to get 1000+ rds for ~$.57 per.   Also, picked up a Rugar 10/22...always wanted one and it is something that's been missing from my collection.    Just ordered some 25 rd mags for it.  All manner of creatures should probably watch out!  Smile  Probably a gun that was way ahead of its time.

At any rate, I'm always aggravated when folks ask for advice and never tell you what they did...so, there ya go.

Glad to be of help.

BTW, ammoplanet.com had Aguila .22LR in yesterday’s email for $22.99 for a 500 round box,
Less than 5 cents a round. I bought 4 boxes.

Dawgnatty,

Did you get the 10/22 breakdown with the backpack ? I bought one for my son and it is super cool.

As a hard and fast rule, I don't buy guns from places that turn my info over to the Feds.

My rule is store guns and ammo in multiple locations so the Feds can’t get it all at once.

But I have bought several from individuals too.

I've had one for years and love it.  Only thing is, I need to get the front sight post changed to a hi-viz.  It's damn near impossible to see in low light.

I also tried to mount a scope on it with a removable bracket.  I never could get it sighted in.  It was all over the place.  Take the scope off and use open sights, and I can put 25 within a 3" circle at 15-20 meters.

That same scope is now on my son's standard 10/22 and it shoots just fine.

So, you only buy from individuals?

I didn’t.    I knew that was a better deal and even a better looking gun.   But, I just wanted the standard version.   Was that the deal with the scope too?

I’m using this one a little different.   I bought 5 25 round mags and a red dot for optics.
