The University of Georgia women's swimming and diving team opened up the 2024 NCAA Women's Swimming & Diving Championships with an 11th place finish in its home waters Wednesday evening at Bauerle Pool at Gabrielsen Natatorium. In the 800-yard freestyle relay, sophomore Shea Furse, senior Sloane Reinstein, junior Duné Coetzee, and senior Zoie Hartman earned First Team All-America honors with a sixth-place time of 6:54.67, the sixth-fastest time in program history.

The fifth-ranked Georgia softball team routed the Georgia Southern Eagles Wednesday evening 17-1 in five innings at Jack Turner Stadium.  Sophomore Jaydyn Goodwin had a career game. She hit two home runs, one of which was a grand slam, and drove in a career-high six runs. Georgia improves to 24-4 on the season. All 17 Georgia position players played in Wednesday's game, and 13 Bulldogs recorded hits.

Georgia's Caterina Don was named the SEC's co-Golfer of the Week on Wednesday by the league office in Birmingham, Alabama. Don, a fifth-year senior, finished fifth at last weekend's FSU Match Up by shooting 6-under 210. She carded rounds of 72-69-69 en route to equaling the ninth-best tournament score in program history.

Following his best collegiate result with a t-6th finish at the Linger Longer Inviational, Camden Smith has been named the SEC Freshman of the Week, the league office announced on Wednesday afternoon.
