This is interesting. GHSA makes the decision to move the semifinals....

... back one week in order to avoid conflict with the Georgia-Georgia Tech game, which is being played on Friday after Thanksgiving this year. For the first time, probably ever, there will now be an off-week just prior to the state semifinals.

I'll be honest... I'm not sure how I feel about this. There is no conflict of schedule with the dome or anything. I guess some coaches will like the extra week off, especially in preparation for such a big game.. a semifinal. Some won't like it, though. Is this indicative of further cooperation between high school and college athletics, NILesque?

GHSA Moves Football Playoffs to Adjust for Georgia-Georgia Tech Friday Matchup
John 14:6

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me."

1 Timothy 2:5-6

For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself as a ransom for all, the witness for this proper time.

Acts 4:12

And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved.”

Despite what the article says, the Ga v ga tech wasn’t the reason. This has been in the works for a while.

Interesting. Some other reason actually makes more sense than does the GA-GA Tech game being played on the same day. I wonder what is the actual reason? Just giving the semifinalists extra time to rest and prepare for such important games?

The Benz isn’t available the next Saturday after the GT game is probably the reason for the move..

That’s the reason.  Midweek games suck, so it’s sensible to delay til the weekend.

A nice byproduct is avoiding thanksgiving week.  Preparing for a semi during that week is real tough.  Thanksgiving morning walk through is not exactly productive with turkey waiting at home.
