Hudson Swafford ...

Y'all see where he got kicked off the LIV tour ? The kicker is he has to wait a year before he can play on the PGA Tour. I guess he made enough bonus when he joined LIV but he isn't going to make shit this year.

I mean, it's hard to feel too sorry for him. He got a chunk of change to basically not win anything with LIV. He was hurt last year, so didn't play much. I read he can play on the Asian tour, but there's no guarantee that the PGA will let him back in even after a year. They may try to make an example out of him.

Why did he get kicked off the LIV tour? I know nothing about LIV and their qualification rules.

It seems like LIV pays these guys enough up front money that they never have to worry about money again. Swafford may not care.

He didn't win anything.  Best finish was tied for 36 or something, so they just didn't renew his contract.  I guess LIV operates like a pro sports team.  You don't produce, you don't get a contract.

One of the things I've always liked about the PGA tour was that the player had no team or contract, he had to earn what he made and had to keep his qualification by earning enough and finishing ranked in the top 125.  I guess LIV is similar except for the up front money.

Only reason he went to LIV is he had a couple of surgeries and the doctor told him he didn't know if it was going to work to be able to play golf at the tour level....so, he took the guaranteed money and is set for life....good on him.

Don't blame him one bit.  I would have done the same thing.
