I don't get SECN so I listened to a good bit of the game. Hoop Dawgs sound like they are playing fundamentally sound basketball, a welcome change over the past decade or so. UNF is a good team and it sounded like we never really let them get any real momentum and, more encouragingly, we didn't have any late game collapse to let them make it a nail biter.

I'm guardedly optimistic about the Bball team this season.

I went last night. Dawgs are long and athletic. Defended pretty well against a team that shoots a bunch of 3s. 

I don't know that I'd go as far as to call them fundamentally sound but our athleticism makes up for a lot of shortcomings. Adequate ball handling and shooting and we really get after the boards. 

We'll be a tough out this year but I'm not quite buying in on the bubble team hype just yet. I'll go with cautious optimism as well but will add that we'll be a fun team to watch.

Like I said, I was only listening so I had to imagine what the play was like.  It sounded like the endless stream of turnovers wasn't happening like the last few years and it also sounded like shooting was much better and there weren't as many unopposed layups and easy shots like we have been giving up.  I'm not declaring we are a tournament team but my hope is that we can at least have a winning record in conference and not be a team the good teams in the SEC mark down as an automatic "W".
