So, if teams in conference finals aren't punished for losing....

If Clemson beats Miami and if another  team not in the playoffs wins their conference, Dawgs would be out. (Assuming we don't move up) Can you imagine Miami losing to both Clemson and Tech but getting in over us?  This playoff system is more problematic than any system.

Just brings it back to why winning your conference should be priority #1.

That would be fine if all conferences were on the same level, or at least close. Clemson, Miami and many other conferences champion contenders would have 3 or more losses in the sec.

Maybe, folks said the same thing about Texas and OU.  One is living up to it, the other isn't.  Also, Clemson has beaten the cream of the crop from the SEC twice, for the National Championship. 

Win your conference, you are in.  And if what you say is true, then the SEC is going to dominate.  We all think that, but getting to play in the playoffs wouldn't be in doubt if you are SEC champions.
