The fans of every team that loses a close game blame the officials.

Agreed, but weren't the penalty yards pretty close...they seemed to be letting them play.  Gt fans can't get past the Jackson hit, he put his helmet on the ball...even the Gt QB said that.  That kid had to be exhausted...

Gt played as well as they could, I'll say that.

They were de facto tech fans during the game, like we are when Bama, UT, UF, AU, etc. play someone else.

ACC officiating crew.

I thought they called the game pretty evenly. I got tired of the holding by Tech's line that they weren't calling, and I also saw an obvious chop block on Stackhouse that they didn't call, but we had some holds go uncalled too. I guess you can still say the refs controlled the outcome by not making some key calls on key plays, but I felt better than I would have if they had called everything on one side of the field. They had 5 penalties for 29 yards. We had 3 for 27. Win or lose, blaming the refs is just silly.

Tech qb played better than any Georgia player in that game.  I hate tech but even I had to admit they deserved to win the game, they clearly played better and coached better.  This was the first game I can recall under Kirby where the other team was obviously playing harder to win than Georgia.  I think it is partly a function of NIL.  Our players have their money and they aren't really driven to give their all on the field.  I also think our coaching staff is not as good as it has been.  The D under Schumann is definitely worse than a couple years ago and Bobo's ineptitude needs no more discussion.

SECCG could be interesting.  I am not overly impressed with Texas.  I like that we are an underdog.

Fact...I prefer they let them play versus the alternative.

Someone should go on that thread and ask what time Bama kicks off Saturday.  F'em.

It was an SEC crew.  That explains the lack of holding calls.

What I saw was only the head Ref was from the SEC and the rest of the crew was from the ACC.  In addition, the head ref was in his first year with the SEC with his prior many years being in the ACC.

I chalk some of the game up Friday to the new playoff format...UGA was playing with house money, we may not like it, but I think it had something to do with it.  A win over TX and UGA is in with a bye...

I also like the fact UGA didn't just pack it in late in the game...would have been easy to do...

Your lack of holding calls and SEC refs is spot on.

I agree with some of that.  Lose to tech and we would have had our backs against the wall in the SECCG, win or go home.  A 4 loss team isn't getting into the playoff no matter who they are and who they have played.

I'm glad they didn't pack it in late too but if that had happened with the talent we have I would have serious doubts about our coaches, all of them.  As it is; it appears to me our coaches are doing less with more unless we have been sold a bill of goods on the talent on the team.  I really have to wonder how we have managed to gather together so many supposedly college scholarship worthy WRs who can't catch the ball?  I give the RB room a little bit of a pass due to injuries but the OL looks woeful when they try and run block.

I don't even get upset about missed holding calls anymore.  It is obvious the players know they have a lot of leeway, OL hold on pretty much every play.
