If you are going to put Coke in your bourbon, Evan Williams is more than good enough.

I'm a Buffalo Trace man myself. I like it straight with a big rock of ice and nothing else.

If I remember correctly from my drinking days, Evan Williams sucked regardless what it was mixed with.

I went from Bacardi Rum, to Yukon Jack, to Canadian Club, to Jack Daniels, to Makers Mark before I decided my liver had had enough.

Now the only Bourbon I have now is the 6 oz mixed in my wife’s Fruit Cake Cookies batter and probably most if not all the alcohol is cooked off. And the rare dose of homemade cough syrup which consists of equal parts of Makers Mark, honey, & lemon juice in a shot glass.

I think Jim Beam is the worst of the mainstream brands. BITD in Athens we drank Ancient Age with Coke, it was undrinkable unless it was mixed with something. Today, Benchmark is about the worst bourbon I've ever tasted, it redefines the term "harsh". The Evan Williams Bottled in Bond is actually very good on the rocks. I've gone up and down the bourbon spectrum and Buffalo Trace is the best I've had that isn't insanely expensive. The really expensive bourbons are good but they really aren't worth the crazy money they cost now.

I've become a single malt Scotch drinker in cool weather. It is nice to sip on sitting outside by the fire pit. Two of them a night is generally plenty. I've been working hard on drinking in moderation for a few years now. I find I enjoy the whisky better and feel so much better overall.

Do not insult that good bourbon with anything other than whiskey tumbler.

If you like bourbon, take the hit and find a bottle of Elmer T. Lee. Best I’ve had, but you ain’t mixing it with anyting other than a crystal glass…maybe a rock of ice.

Another Buffalo Trace product.  Toured their distillery in October and it is staggering the amount of bourbon they are producing there. They had a 50 gallon steel drum full of 20 yo Pappy and people were taking their pictures with it. Pretty funny.

I want to say a handle was like $14-15 in college.  Yes to the rock gut but I was running with the poors.
