Supreme court has ruled on TikTok.

It seems they are upholding the earlier ruling so the ban will take effect on Sunday.

Doubt it....for some reason politicians are now backtracking on the ban. Trump has the CEO sitting in VIP seats on Monday, apparently speaks well of Trump.  I bet the ban is paused and the Trump issues an Executive Order protecting it. Always a political thing anyway.

After the ruling, the only thing that can effectively stop it is a sale.  Of course congress could introduce a law to reverse their prior law, but that won't happen.  The president can suspend the ban for 90 days if there is a viable sale on the table.  The definition of viable is not certain, so it's possible that it gets pushed, but by law, the ban is on track to take effect Sunday.

Gotcha, thanks.
I'm on TikTok, watch videos of golf tips and comedians and home improvement stuff, sports things, all from the algorithm. They throw out strippers and Only Fan models at you, but if you scroll past them quickly they show you less of those. Although, I get a lot of videos from Elly Clutch, just saying....

Personally, I have enjoyed the app.  When I didn't go to an office for over a year because of COVID, or never really saw people outside of my immediate family, it was a great outlet to feel like I had some social interaction with people.  The things the algorithm introduced me to, the characters I "met," the things I've done or started doing because I learned to do them organically rather than thinking about doing things and then looking up how to do them have made a difference in my life.  It's been entertaining.  It's introduced me to tv shows, movies, music that I probably would have never heard of otherwise.  I'll miss it.  Of course there's been a lot of bullshit that has come across my feed too, but like you said, if you ignore that stuff, the algorithm gives you less of it.  It's really been the first targeted social media platform that I felt like actually targeted me as in individual with content that I would like.  I'm sure some will argue that therein lies the problem, but I never see anything that I felt is pushed with any effectiveness in changing my mind about any of my beliefs.  In fact, I'd say it did nothing but bolster them.  I'd say the mainstream media does more to effectuate change of opinion because you're going to get their opinion whether you like it or not.  Unfortunately, mainstream media doesn't make an immediate change in what they show you based on your ability to just scroll past it and too many people fall victim to that.

Agree, I find it funny and entertaining and full of golf tips. Ever see Manolo Teaches golf? Hilarious guy. I like the home inspectors who show crazy stuff they find. Or handy tips. Try to stay away from anything political, better for mental health.

Politics and people always trying to one-up each other is why I got off of Facebook a bunch of years ago.  Huge positive impact on my mental health.  I hated learning which of my actual friends were so passionately dumb about some things.  At least with TT, the algorithm shows me stuff I agree with most of the time.
