An Auburn bud sent me a post from his message board saying that Ms. Terry has early onset dementia.

I hope that isn't true. I just think Saban is decidedly too old for this shit and is going out on top.

I really hope that first part isn't true.  She has put up with this too long to go out like that.

I don't think he would take that job.  He's got Texas loving him and with them coming into the SEC, that feels like a lateral move.  I'd also be surprised if Lanning takes the job.  He's got it made at Oregon.  He's got built in NIL.  He's in a conference where it's easier to win.

Unless Alabama is his dream job, and it may very well be, he really should stay put.  Who wants to follow Saban unless they have something to prove?  They'll never satisfy the bama fanbase.

The texas boosters are just as bad fwiw.

There is enough infrastructure at bama to come in and compete for a MNC in the next couple of years and it will be a very attractive job to most coaches in CFB and a few in the NFL.

That being said - lotsa folks prolly gonna get raises out of this.

would be a potential nemesis for Kirby and imo thats a good thing.

Lane has a pretty merc'd out old mrs  team for 2024 and they appear to be poised for a playoff run. Would be pretty dang impressive to take old mrs to a mnc game imo.

Behind the Bama furry pay walls they saying Lanning is out because his buyout is more than the reported 20 Mil.  Cornrowville next candidate up and the Lane Train won't be heading east.

As I recall, Lanning's contract contains some equity stake in Nike, so if someone wants to buy him out, they have to buy out that equity stake as well.  I don't know how accurate that is, but if it exists, it's genius.

I hope the first dozen candidates turn them down and they end up with a Butch Jones quality coach that they have to fire in 2 years and leaves the program in turmoil for a decade.
