The rubber mat on the stoop at the bottom of my backstairs onto my patio filled with water and froze into a sheet of ice.
I had cleaned the steps off yesterday and the sun and wind had dried them.
I was taking out some breadcrumbs for the wild birds. I stepped on the the mat and my feet flew up in the air.
Busted my backside on the stoop or steps, whacked my left shoulder and side of my head on the edge of our glass topped metal table and ended up flat on my back with one foot on the top step and the other on the back wall of my house. This all happened in less than a second.
Got a bruise on my left hip, a sore left shoulder, and a small knot on the left rear of my head. I'm a little sore but luckily no severe injuries. I was wearing my thick Georgia toboggan hat or the edge of the table would have probably cut my head.
Scared the crap out of Mrs. Roga as she heard me fall and came running to the back door to see me laying on the snow covered stoop. Had I fallen another foot over I would have landed on a mattock leaning against the house.
I did lay there for a minute or so as the impact knocked the breath out of me.

Dang Roga, be careful out there! I’m sure most of us have done something similar in the past. Prayers for a quick recovery!

As Sgt. Phil Esterhaus always said, "Hey. Let's be careful out there."
Glad you're okay. We need you on that wall, Roga!

Son, be careful out there. As we get older we are our worst enemies, hope you are ok, listen to your body and wife. If things dont get better you might want to go get looked at. God bless.

Good thing you've been pumpin' that iron, Roga. You probably protected your own self by having done so. Otherwise, you might be telling us about your broken arm, broken hip, and doing it from your hospital bed.

Yep. Working out probably helped me keep from severe injury.

Other than feeling like I got tackled by the DAWG Defense while wearing no pads, I’m okay.
Took another Aleve this morning for soreness and took a long hot shower and iced my hip for about 20 minutes afterwards.
