what am I missing?   I just don't think she has any appeal...unless you're a 12yo girl I guess.  

Full disclosure, I don't know what she sings...now, I'm sure there's some song you could play and say, "this is Taylor Swift"...and I'd know the song.

Well, she is the best selling recording artist of her generation.  She's not stunningly beautiful for a covergirl or movie starlet, but she is fairly attractive and nobody on this here HOTD as a 20 year old would have met her at a bar when she was 20 and said no thanks.

Aside from that, she is singing songs she wrote that appeal to younger ladies in particular but I've enjoyed a few of them myself when my own daughters were in her demographic.  And she does a lot of work/outreach with the medically troubled yutes when she is touring.  I've got no problem with her.

Its roughly equivalent to if Madonna had been dating one of the Dallas Cowboys best players in the 90s.  It would have gotten a lot of attention.

Same effect on me.  I have a hard time enjoying music and movies if the celeb behind it has spewed a bunch of opinions at me, and told me I am dumb for not agreeing.

And that includes Amanda Pearl Shires, up there, Toasty.

She and her following are support for the idea that we took a really bad wrong turn somewhere and need to go back the the amoeba stage and start over.

I think she's pretty but she's also nutty as squirrel turds. 5'11" tall is a plus for me.
