ATHENS – University of Georgia pitchers JT Quinn (Tampa, Fla./Berkeley Preparatory) and Brian Curley (Midlothian, Va./Trinity Episcopal) will begin their professional careers after being selected on the first day of the 2025 MLB Draft. Quinn was selected in the Competitive Balance Round B with the 69th overall pick to the Baltimore Orioles. With the 92nd pick, Curley's name was called as the Arizona Diamondbacks used their third-round selection. Curley was previously a 16th round pick of the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 2024 MLB Draft. The Bulldogs have a string of 52 straight seasons with at least one player signing a professional contract. Also, Georgia has had at least one player drafted each year going back to 1987.
