ATHENS – Six Georgia Bulldogs were selected on the second and final day of the 2025 MLB Draft. Five pitchers and one infielder heard their names called to continue their careers at a professional level. The eight players selected in the 2025 MLB draft marks the most Bulldogs drafted since 2019 and ties for the second-most Georgia players drafted in a single year in program history. Leighton Finley was selected in the sixth round with the 178th pick to the Boston Red Sox. Slate Alford was taken by the Los Angeles Angels with the 259th pick in the ninth round. Tyler McLoughlin was selected in the 10th round with the 313th pick to the New York Mets. The Colorado Rockies selected Zach Harris in the 11th round with the 317 overall pick. Matthew Hoskins' name was called in the 12th round as the Kansas City Royals selected him with the 368th pick. With the 435th pick, the Los Angeles Dodgers took Davis Chastain in the 14th round. Under coach Wes Johnson, the Bulldogs now have had 11 players drafted with an additional two players signing free agent contracts in his two seasons at the helm of the program.

Athens, Ga. – Former University of Georgia offensive lineman Josh Brock has been named the new color analyst for Georgia football games on the Georgia Bulldogs Sports Network, it was announced today by Learfield and Georgia Bulldogs Sports Marketing. A seasoned media professional with over 15 years of sports broadcasting experience in the booth and on the sidelines, Brock brings a versatile background as the newly named color analyst. His extensive résumé includes two GABBY Awards and coverage of four State Championship games. Brock also has 10 years of experience on the Bulldogs Sports Network as an analyst and a regular contributor on Bulldogs Live and Dawg Talk Post Game Show. Brock is a graduate of Cartersville High School and the University of Georgia, where he was a three-year letterman on the UGA football team.
