I found a documentary on Prime that is told by the survivors of the USS Indianapolis.
It is quite frankly amazing and I recommend highly for any of you WWII buffs.

Speaking of WWII, I had a buddy of mine who is a gun collector gift me a M1 Garand that by serial # was made 1941. No way that thing did not see action in WWII. Everything matches, but being all original means it is not a very accurate gun, but I could care less.

Oh, It is USS Indianapolis: The Legacy !!!!!

An M1 Garand isn't going to be nail driving accurate but it is more than accurate enough to hit a man sized target at 600 yds. That is what it was designed to do.

The 1903 Springfield bolt action is more accurate if you want a main battle rifle with high accuracy.

And don't forget----the average GI in WWII was under 150 lbs. and they shot those things all day long!! Dayum!!! Tough guys. The Greatest Generation!
