When your coach has been at your school a long time and has has great success....

Players will not be going to play for your school, they are coming to play for your coach.
Bama is seeing now, it wasn't Bama they wanted to play for, but Saban.
I hate to say it, but we are at that point or very close to that point with Kirby.
One main difference is we have more in state talent who actually might want to play for UGA.
But we would see a similar exodus.

Especially if we hired our 4th choice for Coach...who was from the left coast.

Kirby has ramped up the recruiting success level, for sure. One can't be honest and say that he hasn't ramped up the entire program, even without considering recruiting. He was trying to kick the door down to win a national championship his 2nd year as head coach. He did that primarily with players who were already here. He did have Jake Fromm as a true freshman who was only starting because of injury to Jacob Eason. But, most definitely, Kirby has instilled a whole 'nother level of a program.

It has taken him some time and experience to iron out a few wrinkles, which he is still doing. I was just looking over past schedules and saw the 2018 season and our losing to Texas in the Sugar Bowl. The most vivid memory I have of that game was Bacari Rambo walking the sidelines in street clothes, having chosen to sit out the game in his opting to go to the NFL draft. Kirby put a stop to any opt-outs even traveling to a bowl game, and it has paid dividends.

That said... if/when Kirby does step down or however he exits... I think the impact of the portal and NIL will grossly overshadow who and what Kirby is and will be. That is probably true, right now, of what is happening at Alabama with Saban retiring.
John 14:6

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me."

1 Timothy 2:5-6

For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself as a ransom for all, the witness for this proper time.

Acts 4:12

And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved.”

Kirby will have a well thought out plan that wouldn't do damage for UGA.
