Guys, we need at least 50 guys to pony up $100 a year or 100 guys to pony up $50 a year minimum to keep the lights on. The primary purpose of this place is to talk about our beloved DAWGS…with an occasional foray into the weather or Smokin’s poor music choices.
Visiting the Todd link to the 24/7 board was eye opening for me. I do agree now (and didn’t fully before) we do need to keep the politics separate. It’s just one little click.
From a mod standpoint there is a big difference, IMO, in posting a topic saying there is a terrorist attack, plane crash or political figure dying, etc., and going into endless details and replies of who you think is at fault or how the event will shape the world. Keep a current event topic and replies on facts and not opinions and I’ll be slower on the trigger to move it. Maybe locking your current event posts from replies and encouraging discussion in the lounge would be a good option.

Happy to chip in some more.

It just seems crazy to me that we don't even have 100 guys that donate. That is some BS

I think I looked at it wrong. I 'donated' in December, so I didn't show up on that list. So if every month we get around $1K like shown (and we still have a week left in this month) then we're not that bad off, right?
That's about 12K over the course of a year. It 'should' keep the lights on. But if that doesn't work then we need someone to trim the fat and just share our phone numbers and set up a group text to communicate all day (that's a joke, people).

If there aren't 50 people willing to pay $100 a year to keep this board going, it is probably best that it shuts down. There is no reason I can fathom for letting anyone who doesn't pay post on the board, that is democrat welfare BS.
My renewal is coming up and I'll pay my $100. If enough people don't, thanks for the memories the TODD.

I have zero issues with the way TODD set this place up. $100.00 a year is fine with me. Please let us know in advance (if you can) if things are looking dicey, and I would be willing to ante up.

As usual, I am down for $100; could do more if needed.

Very good points made by TODD. I especially appreciate the "Exhibit A" of what happens to a board when it gets inundated with nothing but political topics, social topics, personal opinions on them all, etc. One thing that setup also feeds into are agitators... people who just can't help themselves but becoming giddy and tee-hee-hee'ing over throwing stink bomb posts just to try to stir up opposition. We don't want to do ANYTHING to encourage that. As TODD so correctly points out, and his real-life example couldn't be stated any more clearly nor better, that is a sure death knell for a place like this.
And I say that as possibly one of the worst who dislike having to have such a discussion in a separate "back room" forum. But I totally get it, and I agree. Thanks for sharing that wisdom, TODD.

I’m not “rich” like some of the good guys in here are, and I know that nobody thinks less of me for that…I mean, you can’t possibly think any less of me, right?!?!?
But I can happily, rationally, and willfully pay the $50 a year for it. I’m already on another pay board where I’ve been a member for over 20 years.
This place has some awesome people, some smart asses that are bottom-line GOOD people, and I’m sure some cheap ass people who refuse to pay anything just out of spite. But we all love the Dawgs.
Do I need to wait until my July date that I THINK I was told, or pay it sooner?
