This happened on January 20, 2024. Be aware, there have been some folk who have reportedly taken this video and are spreading it around, saying it was a tsunami and/or all sorts of other stuff. Per the article it was a rogue wave and only this one island was affected (surrounding islands were not).
The video is absolutely wild. Imagine being inside there when this happened. This is also yet another testimony to the power of water. This is miniscule in comparison to a lot of other events. But look at the immediate damage it creates.

Wow! At 8 1/4 lbs per gallon, a relatively small amount of water packs a big punch.

That is scary as hell. Those folks on the porch just disappeared. It says everyone was okay, but there were three folks there that either got swept deep into the building or went night swimming down the beach. Good thing that guy stopped to save his beer?

Along that train of thought.... isn't it amazing when you think of this amount of weight being thrown around like it is nothing?
This makes me want even more to do on a North Sea cruise....
