From the mind of O'Connor O'Riley on Cash
#1
"The Bulldogs have to replace Cash Jones, who doubled as the team’s best pass catcher and blocker at the running back position. Because of those abilities, he was the team’s top option for virtually every third down."

I think Cash was too short and had a slow first step. His second step was SEC quality, quick and powerful for his size. His top end was elite--a true speed merchant.

Toastee will be along soon to post a Natalie Merchant (of 9,999 Maniacs) tune.

I liked Cash, but I don't recall him making but maybe one 3rd or 4th down attempt. Give me Frazier or Delp.

I recall more failed third down attempts by Cash Jones than anything else. Bobo's predictability on third down didn't help either. Opposing D pretty much knew the ball was going to Cash if he was in the game.

Looks like Bowens is showing decent out of the backfield catching ability as well as Dowdell.  P'nut can do it as well but it's Bowens' role to lose.

The refs took away a big one at the Barn.
