Dribble Dawgs
#1
This years version is quite the surprise as coach White seems to have done what others Dawg coaches have not been able to do.  First, he has energized the fan base with nearly a full house on a dreary weather 6:30 start time mid-week game beating an LSU team that has owned UGA for decades! Coach White appears to be able to stay off the golf course long enough to recruit on par with other SEC State College Universities with his upcoming class being highly ranked. In the meantime, coach White has taken a locker room full of other school's leftovers and has created a tasty dish that is pleasant to this dawg fans pallet, as they play hard nightly and represent our university well on the court. Years ago, I would have traded the entire basketball program for a solid pulling offensive guard for the football team, but what I have seen so far out of Coach White in the time he has been in Athens has me back on board the Dribble Dawgs train!!

a couple of turd friends laughed when we got him. i told them if he did just as well at Ga as he did in gainesville, we'd build a statue for him.
our expectations have been so low, it is great to feel like we finally have a competitive team.

Amen to all of that. Shoot, if these guys can actually get us through Feb/March and remain relevant...WOW!! Our basketball history outside of us UGA fans is almost non-existent. Like 'Wood said, if he can make the tournament every year or two and actually win a game...they might build a statue. (next to Stetson's).

This team is at least interesting. They don't really have that dominant, go-to, guy. But, they're deep and have 3-5 guys that can score 20 on any given night. I'd like to see a little more leadership and intensity from them...but, hey!! It's night and day compared to what we are used to seeing.

I'm on board. And I hope we kick UF's ass in Gainesville Saturday.

Daughter took her family last night and they said it was rocking.

I was about to give up on them last night because of that four minute drought that let LSU come back. Made a couple of questionable decisions during that stretch, but this team is so much more fun to watch than the last handful of years. So many bright spots on this team. Demery is a damn freshman and he can play with the best. We probably only have him this year because he'll transfer to Kentucky or some shit.

Coach White has made a huge difference . Just watching last night and them talking to a friend who was at the Steg said it was a great atmosphere and exciting. You know Coach doesn't need no motivation for florida. Go Dawgs! Right ON!!!!!

The three pointer before it was the dumbest thing I had seen all night.  Of course he would have been a hero if he made it, but we didn't need 3 points.

Least we are getting fg attempts instead of turovers and not as many idiotic fouls

And making some damn free throws.  Both under Fox and Crean, our guys couldn't hit sand if they fell off a camel.

Amen brother.  I remember so many games we lost by 5 or less where we went like 8 for 27 from the free throw line.

To get to da dance  we need to win 4 of these games at home: Bama, SC, Florida, Texas A&M, Ole Miss  And these 3 road games: Miss St.(2-4) , Arkansas (1-5), Vandy (0-6), LSU (3-3). Any that we steal along the way like Florida away, Auburn home or away is gravy

(01-25-2024, 10:07 AM)Replying to As a lifelong Dawg fan and Alumnus of UGA, if we fielded a chess team, I'm gonna support them.  That said, this basketball team is definitely the most fun team I've watched in the last 10-12 years.  Having some reliable outside shooters is nice to have.  Even on Saturday when UK was beating the crap out of us, the team didn't fold.  Down over 20 points in the second half and then draw to within single digits was a good showing on our guy's part.  That no quit attitude is good to see.  JimmylikesUGA
