Big weekend-even weather radar is blocked near many bases

At 4:30 a.m., today, it was 77 degrees with 100% humidity, no wind, and miserable. This was hard by The Gulf of America on FOB Spiritual Indian.

Only about 70 of us here, counting civilians. Six hundred more (QRT) within an hour. Most are Active Guard Reserves (AGR).

Overview

The AGR program places Army National Guard, Army Reserve soldiers, Air National Guard, and Air Force Reserve airmen on full-time active duty under Title 10 or Title 32 U.S.C., typically for 180 consecutive days or more, to support Reserve and National Guard units in leadership, training, administration, and operational roles. AGR personnel may also support active duty organizations or joint commands, filling critical shortfalls when no qualified active component personnel are available.

Eligibility
Enlisted Soldiers must be SPC through SFC, meet military education requirements, be eligible for reenlistment, pass physical and medical standards, and clear a Defense Central Investigative Index check.
The Official Home Page of the United States Army

Officers and Warrant Officers must be 2LT through MAJ or W01 through CW4, meet initial appointment requirements, complete a three-year tour before mandatory removal, and satisfy physical and medical standards.

Benefits

AGR members receive full active duty pay, medical care for themselves and their families, and the opportunity for retirement after 20 years of active service. They are also eligible for VA benefits, including home loans, education programs like the Post-9/11 GI Bill, and life insurance options.

Career and Service
AGR positions provide full-time military experience while remaining part of the Reserve Components. Members often serve in critical stateside missions, such as the National Guard Bureau or Air Defense Sectors, and may transition into career-track positions after six years of service. AGR service allows Soldiers to stay close to home, pursue civilian careers or education, and maintain military readiness.

Transitioning to AGR

Service members transitioning from active duty can compete for AGR positions, often closer to home, while continuing military service in a full-time capacity. The process involves coordinating with recruiters, completing required paperwork, and meeting age, fitness, and service requirements.

Key Takeaway: The AGR program offers a unique opportunity for Reserve and National Guard members to serve full-time, enjoy active duty benefits, and maintain a long-term military career while supporting both Reserve and active component missions.

Pentagon Pete and Rowdy Trump are drilling with a big auger. Or perhaps they want the Persians to think they are.

I read there was a death threat against Ivana Trump and the man taken into custody had Iranian connections and even had a blueprint of Ivan's Florida mansion.
