OMAHA, Neb. – Georgia (51-12) will open play in Omaha on Saturday at 8 p.m. ET against Texas (45-13) on ESPN. Should the Bulldogs win that game, they will next play on Monday, June 15 at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN against the winner of Oklahoma and Alabama. If they lose to Texas on Saturday, they will play at 2 p.m. ET on Monday against the loser of the Oklahoma-Alabama matchup. The Bulldogs will be playing in the CWS for the first time since 2008 and the seventh time in program history. The 51 wins ranks second behind the 1990 national champions that finished 52-19.
EUGENE, Ore. – Georgia men's and women's teams travel to Eugene this week for the 2026 NCAA Outdoor Championships at Hayward Field, scheduled for Wednesday through Saturday. The third-ranked Georgia men begin the meet on Wednesday after winning the team national championship at the same facility in 2018. The top-ranked Lady Bulldogs come to the University of Oregon campus after collecting the program's first NCAA women's team crown in 2025 and start competition Thursday. As usual, the Southeastern Conference has the most combined entries, this time featuring 146 on the women's side (53 more than the next conference) and 145 for the men (41 more than the next conference). Georgia qualified 27 individuals (three relay alternates) in a combined 16 events from the NCAA East Prelims in Lexington, Ky., on May 27-30, plus a heptathlete and decathlete auto qualifier. Other than the decathlon running Wednesday-Thursday and the heptathlon going Friday-Saturday, the meet is set up to be a men's competition on Wednesday and Friday and a women's competition on Thursday and Saturday.
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – A trio of Bulldogs have been voted Southeastern Conference outdoor track annual awards, according to a league announcement Monday. All three Bulldogs completed a sweep of the respective SEC indoor and outdoor honors. Junior Kimani Jack was named the SEC Men's Newcomer Field Athlete of the Year, redshirt freshman Adaejah Hodge garnered SEC Women's Freshman Runner of the Year honors and freshman Jonathan Simms was voted the SEC Men's Freshman Runner of the Year.
