I just helped load my ATC E-10 (Ret.) onto an ambulance. He was found non-responsive at 6:30 this morning by his CWO-3, from our beloved corps.

Ron absorbed more trauma than anyone can endure. His wife left him. His only child, a daughter aged 21, committed suicide in Hawaii on vacation. He drank like an Irish camel. His mom and brother died within months of each other recently. His drinking became worse.

He was just approaching 60.

Damn fine soldier and man. He had a demon.

Deputy Sheriff and EMT wrote down, "DRT." Dead right there.
