I never really cared for her voice. She was an incredibly successful businesswoman and a driven, hard working woman who came from very meager beginnings to achieve a lot.

She did a pretty good job on a covers album she did a few years back…some of them surprised me.. No doubt about her business acumen..

After Eric Erickson announced her passing on his show and said nice things he told the story of when she was someplace in LA and her hairdresser talked her into going to a club that was having a Dolly look alike drag queen show contest so the hair dresser talked Dolly into entering it- but she did not win!! Had to show ID to prove who she was....

She was a geniunely awesome person. Her books to all Tennesee children is a great program. She was a great entertainer whether you like her music or not, a queen of one liners, and is really the first celeb that I remember passing that has not one negative word said about her on social media or the press upon her passing. My Instagram feed last night was 99.9% all Dolly with the .1% all posts that weren't Dolly being posted prior to her passing. That has never happened before.

The story that Munson told of him, Jerry Reed (with a firecracker hidden in his pocket) seated backstage on the set of the old Porter Waggoner Show waiting to film his fishing show while Dolly and Porter Waggoner "met" in a dressing room camper was legendary and FAH. It would about break the old Vent when it recirculated every couple of years. Heard Munson tell it at the Prado one night. I about wet my pants laughing so hard. Munson could spin a tale when he had a few in him.
