(SIAP) Bobby Poss has passed away...........

·       Bobby Poss has passed away
·       A great Athens Character and former UGA player
·       His family had the Poss’ Restaurant on the west end of Athens on the Atlanta Highway…..and Poss’ Lakeview
·       They did concessions at Sanford for many years……
·       In the old days….your Coke cups at UGA games didn’t say UGA, it said Poss’
·       His dad had played for UGA as did Bobby
·       He wasn’t that big……and, if memory serves, his one duty was to hike the ball to the holder on PATs and field goals…
·       He later opened a restaurant on Baxter street called: “Bobby’s Point After Touchdown”
·       When you met him for the first time….he would often say:  “My name is Bobby Poss.  That is P, O, Dollar sign, Dollar sign………”
·       I knew him for years and saw him for the last time about ten years ago
·       Clarke Central Hall of Fame dinner…..and Bobby was there…….
·       We chatted for a few minutes and it was still the same old Bobby
·       The end of an era
·       Ask me about the women the police picked up on the side of country roads after dates with Bobby if you run into me
·       Bobby……DGD!  Rest in Peace!
