Extremely doubtful, but the threat has to be there to make Kiffin & Gov of LA behave.

If they were gone - who would you want to replace them?

LSU finalized their roster for the rest of the season yesterday, and neither of the former pro players were included.  So, it looks as if LSU’s surrender to conference rules is beginning.

I have a feeling the admin at LSU sat Kiffin down and explained to him that, no matter how long he stays at LSU, he is temporary and LSU is not going to let itself be permanently kicked out of the SEC over something he wants to do.  I think Kiffin has gotten too big for his britches and the LSU admin slapped him down.

FSU or Clemson?  No way.  What do they really bring?

FSU and Clemson are just the two schools that seemed to express direct interest in joining the SEC in the last couple of years.  Someone also mentioned Georgia Tech.  I don't think that's appealing to the SEC at all because it doesn't really expand their media footprint.  They are a founding member of the SEC, but it would cost them a lot to get out of the ACC, and I'm not sure they have it.

UNC makes a lot of sense because they have the money to leave the ACC, and North Carolina is an untapped market for the SEC.

Considering a replacement is really likely premature.  I tend to agree with the USA Today article.  LSU will get slapped around by the league and it will comply.

Other than a passionate basketball fan base, UNC doesn't really bring much either.  Football is a distant second fiddle in Chapel Hill.  In fact, the whole of the state of NC isn't exactly a hotbed of football interest.  The only reason I can see the SEC having interest in UNC is wanting to broaden the basketball fan base and exposure.

Doubt that will happen.
