The official athletic mascot for Western Kentucky University (WKU) is Big Red, a large, fuzzy, bright red creature of intentionally unknown species.

My cousin's daughter (I guess she's also my cousin) went there. I got the feeling WKU is sort of the Ga. Southern of KY. The kids who can't get into UK but want the "college experience" pick WKU a lot.
