White has one commit for the 2024 class. Newell is a 5-star, but only one commit? That doesn't seem to be the ideal number.

He's a lot better coach than Crean, but recruiting will make or break him. The results so far are mixed.

he's done OK with the transfer portal - and this is probably the most competitive team we've had in a decade.  I think the future is bright for UGA basketball.  It will take a couple of more years though.

I find all of this so damn frustrating. UF (obviously) with a new coach and they are a bubble team and beat us in OT, and we are still struggling to finish a game. South Carolina has a new head coach. Started the same year as White. We beat them, but they beat UK and UT in back to back games. Hell, Tech has a brand new head coach, and they beat #3 UNC the other night.

After 25+ years of hoping there could be a program in Athens, I'm finally convinced that Georgia basketball just isn't a thing that can be built up and be a consistent tournament team. White had some players last year, and then everyone transferred out. Probably gonna do it again after this year. We just don't have any appeal for young blue chippers, or even light blue chippers. We'll be looking for chemistry every year from these transfers.

I feel like this team has a lot of chemistry, but these meltdowns are just hard to stomach.
