Almost looks like it could be something like Dekalb Memorial Stadium or something like that. You can also see that this is before the epic, historic, landmark Nail Stick Dawg scoreboard.
Times... they be a'changin'.
John 14:6
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me."
1 Timothy 2:5-6
For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself as a ransom for all, the witness for this proper time.
Acts 4:12
And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved.”

Wish it were still like that. I like Vandy’s stadium because of the limited capacity. Better watching the game with 30k people than it is 100k, imo.

I didn't even pick that up, ie the lights being present. Interesting.
Also, they're out in front of the stands, the way they were in the high school stadiums back in the day. I think I've been to some high school games as late as the 1970s that were still that way.

Nailstick was on the track side. It was there until after the 1980 season when the East end zone was enclosed.

Here's a pic that is labeled as being from 1963. I chose this because you can see the light poles are still in place. But I also took notice of all of the area beyond the bridge. My word... how much that has changed since this photo was taken.

High schools played there pretty often. The HS Allstar game was there too.

I remember the Athens YMCA football teams playing in the stadium before the Georgia games on Saturdays. I never knew the lights were still up in the early '60s. They must have taken them down in the mid '60s. My first game was in '69 and there were no lights.

My knowledge and understanding of lights at Sanford began with the 1982 season with the infamous season opener against Clemson when they brought in temporary lights for the night game. I was thinking that was the first night game ever, and that there had never before been lights in the stadium. Reckon I was what we like to call "WRONG".
