Legendary men's tennis head coach Manuel Diaz, the SEC's all-time leader in career wins who has guided Georgia to 29 conference championships, four NCAA national titles and a pair of ITA indoor national championships in 36 years, announced Thursday that he will retire at the conclusion of the current 2023-24 season. Georgia women's basketball team suffered a 73-51 loss to Ole Miss on Thursday at the SJB Pavilion in Oxford. With two days of competition remaining in the SEC Swimming and Diving Championships, the Georgia men are tied with Tennessee for second place with 569 points apiece. In the women's standings, Georgia stands third with 498 points. The 12th-ranked Georgia men and the 13th-ranked Lady Bulldogs traveled to Fayetteville, Ark., on Wednesday in preparation for the Southeastern Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships at the Randal Tyson Track Center scheduled for Friday and Saturday. Georgia Baseball returns home Friday as the Bulldogs begin their first-ever three-game set with Northern Kentucky. The #18 Georgia gymnastics team travels to Tuscaloosa, #12 Alabama to face the Crimson Tide on Friday, February 23 at 7 p.m. CT in Coleman Coliseum. The third-ranked Georgia softball team returns to Athens to host the 21st Annual Georgia Classic at Jack Turner Stadium this weekend.
