I'm having a tough time finding 5.56 under 50 cents a round, even when buying 500 to 1000rds at a time.

Plenty of it available from 55 to 65 cents a round.

Yeah I'm looking for 1-2K rounds. I haven't seen it for .55. .60 is the best I'm seeing.

Academy had their  Remington 62 grain 200 rd box for $109.99 about 2 weeks ago which is 54.9 cents per round.

With my Academy card I saved 5% off of that and bought 600 rds.   But they were out of stock at the Chattanooga store when I went back a 2nd time about a week later.

Just got an email from Academy Sports that they just got in some Remington 62 grain (Green Tip) 5.56

A 500 rd box for $269.99 ( that's 54 cents a rd)  And if you have an Academy card you save another 5%.

Ammoseek is your friend. At that quantity, there won't a lot of difference in shipping costs. Good idea to check reviews before you commit.
