Hard to figure what they were thinking - they can't by any stretch of the imagination think they got screwed by the NCAA after dropping their last three games of the season.  20-12 might have been sufficient in many years, but just looking at the SEC, we were the best team not to have 20 wins.  And Ole Mrs. didn't really have any statement wins.

Wouldnt be surprised if they felt like too many players would opt out. Not much in it for a kid who’s going pro or transferring.

My guess is Beard thinks he's to good for the NIT and it's not their goal

I admire them for turning it down.  Who cares about winning a tournament that would crown you the 69th best team in the country?  They have to feel like their season was a disappointment and the way they faded late can't have made them anxious to play more games.

Glad Dribble Dawgs got in the NIT. A couple of wins there would be a small step in the right direction. Maybe they can make the big tournament next year.

We were 1 game over .500 on the season and 6-12 in conference games.  I'd have preferred a merciful end to the agony that is Georgia basketball.

Aren't the first 4 in the 68?  It doesn't matter.  Winning the NIT is like being Myrtle Beach Bowl Champions.

Maybe us playing in the NIT is a sign that Demery, Blue, and James are not portholioing.
