Dammit…

Left an iPad in a hotel recently, thankfully recovered, and now I’ve left my flip flops in a hotel.  The memory and awareness is not what it once was.

I left a faded denim jacket at a hotel on Folly Beach back in the 90s. It would be retro hip now. Had a 96 Rock pin on it.

After I sing anywhere, I now do a doublecheck after packing up. Before I started doing that, I lost a lot of mic cords and speaker cables in my rush to get to my next appointment or home.

The last few years, I've had to apply the same double check to my leaving just about anywhere, to keep from losing sunglasses, jackets, etc.

I've adopted the system of keeping all of my stuff together when I travel. I put clothes in the closet and in a dresser drawer when I arrive and I put all my dirty clothes in a drawer of their own as I use them. I put everything back in my shaving kit every morning or evening after I use it. When it is time to leave I can repack from three places and know I have everything.

It took years of leaving things in hotels and vacation rentals to develop my method.
