Who is going to G Day?...
#1
I don't think I'm going this year.  I can't get excited about it at all.  If the weather is nice I'll be outside doing something and if it isn't, I'll watch G Day on tv.

Apathy towards the new pro football league is really setting in.

I'm Shocked! Absolutely shocked that you, JC, have a complaint about a UGA sports team/event.

That's not like you at all. Wink

It's kind of weird really.  I don't really have any complaint, I just don't have much interest.  I used to really look forward to G Day, even last year I was excited about going.  This year is a totally different feeling.  Maybe it's age but I don't have any negative or positive feelings about it, more of a lack of interest either way.

I am trying to schedule a trip to a baseball game.  I haven't been to one in a few years and I always enjoy going.  I really liked going to baseball games when I was a student.

Choose carefully about the baseball games. We got absolutely mauled by the Kentucky batcats. And truth be known it's when people don't comment or show up is when the powers taht be will know for certain there's an issue.

I was able to get a ticket yesterday. Thanks to TRD’s post about receiving his, I checked and was surprised to see that they went on sale at noon yesterday (abt. 2 weeks earlier than last year), so, connected to the site using fast internet speed exactly at noon, I was “entered into a virtual waiting room” for about 3 minutes then connected to the site and by then there were only a few sections left on the north side and the upper end zone. After my first 3 choices were rejected, I finally got a seat on the lower north side at the goal line…I’m just too slow for the digital age…still not sure if I’m able to go but grateful to have the option…

Something tells me they are using all of the digital ticket selection crap to build up to a massive re-seat or something, and ultimately screw a bunch of long time ticket holders out of their seats.

Yeah; the painful truth is, Georgia is really only good at football as a major men's sport.  It has been that way for a very long time.  I enjoy going to the baseball games for the experience of the game as much as anything.  A win makes it much better but I have a good time no matter what and it is an affordable thing to do.  We have little commitment to baseball as a program and it shows.  I don't think the powers that be really concern themselves too much with baseball as long as it is .500 or better on the season and isn't totally embarrassed in conference play.  Foley only holds about 2700 so even relatively small crowds look respectable.  We should be a national power in baseball but no one cares enough to make it happen.

I think TEE's doppelganger, Lewis Grizzard, was one of the coaches during the last G-Day game I went to, circa '78.  Too many folks on the bandwagon these days.  Only way average Joes gonna be able to get back into Mecca of the South is for Dogs of Georgia to have back-to-back-to back losing seasons..........or attend a body-bag game.

THAT is it in a Nutshell. I got season tickets back when Goof was helping Dawgs into the deep sleep. FInally gave em up when {redacted} went into a coma on the sidelines vs Western Virginal Mountains. I fugured if the head ballcoach gave up there was no sense in paying out an arm and a leg when the concession stands in my kitchen were better and I didn't have a couple next to me talking about where to get some fried chicken after the game.
