Dawgs are hurting for NIL and there are several players who going to leave after spring if we can't match. I am absolutely done with paying attention to college sports. I have probably paid as little attention to spring practice since the days of waiting for AJC Sunday paper.
I only read The OS because someone gave me their login.
Basically they (school) want fans to donate to the school, pay for season tickets and buy the players for them.
I'm not saying I will not watch them at all, but I did miss a few games last year and it didn't bother me. I could miss more this year. I will always want to Dawgs to win but I also would like the Hawks to win a d I haven't watches one of their games, or even part in ar least 15- 20 years.
College sports will go on without me, and I will go on just fine without it

I frankly have enough for the Hartman donation and season tickets and that is about it. I have other needs besides giving money to 18-22 year so they will play football. If corporations or business have the advertising dollars to do it, bless them. The sooner we get to an employee/revenue sharing/salary cap model the better. I'm just happy I got to see back to back championships before it all imploded.

I will give nil to the NIL. It’s NOT my job or responsibility to buy these guys, and then they rob us by taking it, then leaving the very next year. Why would anyone buy into this ridiculous business-model??
I don’t think even the expert shiester, Mr. Haney, would fall for that scheme.

I doubt we are actually hurting for NIL more than anybody else is. Everyone is always begging for more NIL money, and making it sound like we are pending disaster is how it is achieved most effectively. I have no doubt for any player that we lose in the portal, we can find a qualified replacement in the portal from someone that wants a chance to compete for a championship.
This is a corrupt system and process, and the NCAA seems ok to just let the whole ball of wax meltdown. Having to match someone to keep a player that isn't in the portal is proof of tampering. It is hurting my interest in the game as well - I'm not really an enthusiastic fan of college football anymore and haven't been for a decade. I'm more like that miserable smoker that's standing outside in 15 degree weather sucking on a cancer stick as fast as possible since they don't enjoy it but can't seem to live without it.
I'd have walked after our B2B championship if not for the opportunity to do something nobody else had done in the modern era. I'm actually considering just taking the year off and seeing what life is like without watching a down of football. That's easier said than done I know. But I don't really find that being a slave to the football schedule makes me a better, happier person.
