Wait til its actively growing as in you are having to mow every 10 days or so.   Prob.  Early june

Mine has about fully greened up..Emerald Zoysia here..I think you would be fine to aerate it now…I have only done mine 2-3 times in the last 20 years..it looks like carpet..

I still have a few weeks before it is fully, lush green.  Still a lot of winter brown in it. And, mine is emerald zoysia as well.
