Georgia head coach Kirby Smart will represent the Bulldogs in the 17th annual Southern Company Peach Bowl Challenge charity golf tournament held April 28 – 30 at Reynolds Lake Oconee outside of Atlanta. A field of 23 current and former college football coaches will compete for a share of a $300,000 charity purse.
The ninth-ranked Georgia softball team returns to Athens to open a seven-game homestand on Wednesday when USC-Upstate comes to Jack Turner Stadium. The final midweek game of the season begins at 6 p.m. on SEC Network+.
Bulldog high jumpers Elena Kulichenko and Riyon Rankin have earned Southeastern Conference weekly honors following the Tom Jones Memorial Invitational, according to a league announcement Tuesday. Kulichenko has been named the Women's Field Athlete of the Week while Rankin has garnered Men's Freshman of the Week honors.
A freshman from Limerick, Pa., Lilly Smith came in with a lot of expectations as one of the top recruits in the country. And she has delivered all season long. Last month, the all-around competitor was named the SEC Freshman of the Year and an All-American. At the NCAA Gainesville Regional earlier this month, she won the all-around title. And later this week, Smith will compete for the national all-around title at the NCAA Championships in Fort Worth, Texas.
