Doesn't that create crazy gas? I've tried taking a half T spoon of baking soda for an upset stomach a few times. Most times it works pretty well. Sometimes it seems to get there and fizz.

Best of luck to you my friend. This getting old thing sucks.

Keto diet got my A1C back down the normal range, but I do miss bread, pasta, doughnuts, white rice and Irish potatoes.

I do put a teaspoon of baking soda, a teaspoon of coconut oil and a tablespoon of heavy whipping cream in my first cup of coffee every morning.

Wouldn't baking soda and any sort of vinegar create a foaming gas reaction like the science fair volcanoes of my youth?

I make a drink I drink every day with lemons, ginger and apple cider vinegar(with the mother, of course). I do that because I heard
it would clean out your liver/kidneys but  the ACV also helps to keep blood sugar from spiking. It sucks to never drink sweet tea anymore or
have any cokes but I have grown accustomed to it and prefer it now. I will sweeten it with a little bit of Tupelo honey but I don't go crazy with it.
I have put the recipe on here before and it's called Haymakers Punch and it goes back to the 1800's for field workers (like an early Powerade drink)

I didn't like the taste of your Haymaker's Punch, but it definitely helped keep me from overheating/dehydrating when working in the heat of the Summer.

Type I or II? I've had Type I since 2017. Finally got serious in March of 2022 and put myself on a low carb low sugar diet and lost 50 pounds. Started walking 6 days a week too. My A1C was 8.7 but stays in the 5.5 range now. I was taking Metformin and the doctor started me on Jardiance in March of 2022. Looks like I will be coming off the Metformin in October. The Jardiance helps with heart and kidney function too.

I hope you find your "groove" soon!

I didn't the first couple of times, but I grew to love it in order to be able to keep mice elf slimmer & healthier.
