The GHSA state playoffs are in progress. Yesterday's Class AA games were 2nd round games. Rockmart hosted Providence Christian, which I understand is from over in Lilburn. Dawgs' signee, Hunter Atkins (6'2" 175 lbs, LHP, Jr) won the 1st game, 3-2, pitching a complete game. I think he had 11 strikeouts (they play 7 innings). I don't know how many hits were given up, not many. I believe he threw a no-hitter in last week's 1st round opener vs. Drew Charter.
Rockmart also has a very good sophomore left-hander, Trey Luke. He pitched game #2, pitching a complete game shutout, Rockmart winning 10-0. I think he had 13 strikeouts.
