No. 7 Dawgs beat Texas A &M 3 times this year but could not beat them a 4th time lost 4-1 for National Championship Lady Tennis.

The No. 11 national seed Georgia softball team defeated the Liberty Flames twice on Sunday to punch its ticket to the NCAA Super Regionals. The Bulldogs beat Liberty 14-5 behind six home runs in Game 6 of the Athens Regional to force a winner-take-all Game 7. It was a pitcher's duel most of the game, but seventh inning heroics from Dallis Goodnight and Sydney Chambley lifted Georgia to a 3-2 victory and a spot in the Super Regionals. Georgia won three straight games out of the elimination bracket to win the NCAA Athens Regional on Sunday. Georgia will make its 13th program appearance in the Super Regionals. The team will travel to Los Angeles to take on sixth-seeded UCLA in the NCAA Super Regional round. The best-of-three series will begin Thursday, May 23 at 9:30 p.m. ET, airing live on ESPN2 from Easton Stadium.

Georgia will face LSU in the opening game of the SEC Tournament Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. ET at Hoover Metropolitan Stadium. The game will be televised by the SEC Network and be available on the Georgia Bulldog Sports Network. The Bulldogs are the No. 6 seed after finishing the regular season with a 39-14 mark including 17-13 in SEC action. The Tigers went 36-20 and garnered the No. 11 seed after posting a 13-17 SEC record. The teams did not face each other during the regular season. The 12-team field features single elimination play on Tuesday with double-elimination starting on Wednesday. The Georgia-LSU winner will face SEC co-champion Kentucky (39-12, 22-8 SEC), the No. 3 seed, Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. ET. The Wildcats and Tennessee (46-10, 22-8 SEC) finished as co-champions of the league. The division winners earn the top two seeds with UT holding the tiebreaker over the Wildcats. Georgia will be making its 29th overall appearance at this event with a 31-50 record. The Bulldogs best finish has been second three times (1985, 1986 and 1989).
