Interesting. Looks like Walmart is closing all of their health clinics.

I used them for some blood test for a work security clearance a couple/few years ago. Thus, we got a letter in the mail letting us know of a long list of these Walmart health clinics that they are closing, including the one located near where we live.

Walmart is closing all 51 of its health clinics

Forbes article has a bit more detail
John 14:6

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me."

1 Timothy 2:5-6

For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself as a ransom for all, the witness for this proper time.

Acts 4:12

And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved.”

its hard to compete on price when most of the cost is not absorbed by the consumer. I love Walmart, spend plenty of time and money there, and greatly appreciate their efforts to counteract the stupidity of our country's monetary policy and leadership. But I can't see any way to make money in a market that is regulated and not subject to basic laws of economics. One of the ways they are able to do it in Pharmacy is that they offer a number of prescription medicines that the total prices are below what consumers would pay at other pharmacies even with insurance.

Yeah. I can imagine the billing nightmare they must have. They must also have a problem keeping specialists readily available. I guess it has become a big money hole for them.

I don't take my vehicles to WalMart for oil changes or tire service. I'm certainly not going to go to WalMart for medical care.

We had a ... I think it was a drug test... for being part of a team at work that requires some level of security clearance. There were several places listed where we could go be tested (I want to say it was to provide a urine sample). The Walmart clinic was one option, and it was the closest, which is why I went there.

One thing I noticed was that... and I think I have this understood correctly.... they don't have full-time specialists on duty. They had people who worked elsewhere and would split time there, as well. That was what I saw, anyway, for this one particular location.

It is interesting in that nationwide it appears that they only have/had 51 of these clinic locations. I guess they didn't get too far into dipping their toes into that water.

Their in store optometrist here is one guy who rotates to the different stores.  He is in each store one day a week.  I've gotten glasses there in the past and the exam and the glasses were as good as anywhere else I ever went.  The optometrist was not a WalMart employee.  He rented the space from them and it was his little eye clinic operation.

I would think that would be harder to do with doctors.  Sick or hurt people may not be able to wait until the day the doctor is going to be in.
