Haven't used any in quite a few years, but was moderately pleased with it. Every now and then a bag would be crappy. Tended to have lots of flooring pieces. Burned decent. I did see that deal at Costco just 2 days ago, though.

Last few years it's mainly been Royal Oak or Jealous Devil for me.

Thanks for everyone’s input. Just bought my first smoker, an Oklahoma Joe’s entry level model.

Got lots to learn. First lesson was buying additional self adhesive heat resistant gaskets to cut down smoke leakage. The same stuff used to reseal a BGE works pretty good.

Last bag I bought was jealous devil and I was pretty happy with the size make up and how it burned

Thanks all…I generally rely on the nakedwhiz.com for lump reviews but their page on Cowboy is almost 20 years old…#2 son gave me a bag of Meat Head lump he picked up at the NY Butcher Shoppe and it seems to be pretty good, mostly med-large pieces and lights fast…think I’ll pass on the Cowboy deal.
