Damn, that sucks. 1 more legend of my youth is gone.

Saw Bill at a Boz Scaggs concert in SD years ago. Walked right by me and an usher. He was carrying a lawn chair. The usher told Bill that " no Deadheads are allowed tonight". He turned and gave that big grin and chatted for a moment. Helluva nice guy. Turned around and walked down to the front row and put the lawn chair down and partied his a$$ off. When the show was over , he walked back by us and said "Boz gave us a Hell of a show tonight". With that he walked up the aisle carrying that lawn chair high over his head, grinning his a$$ off. I think life was good being Bill Walton.

I remember watching those great UCLA basketball teams back in the 60's and 70's. Walton was one of many very elite BB players that thrived under Coach John Wooden.

Great guy..he was on the Balboa Park committee with my sister. Met him a few times over the years, we’d always talk about the Grateful Dead
