University of Georgia graduate second baseman Sydney Kuma has been awarded the 2024 Rawlings Gold Glove Award, bestowed upon the nation's top defensive players.  In her final season in the Red and Black, Kuma fielded a career-best .974. She committed just six errors in 230 chances in 2024. She completed 129 putouts with 95 assists and turned 19 double plays. Kuma finished fifth all-time at UGA with 390 assists. As a team, Kuma led the defense to its best fielding percentage since the program record of .981 was set in 2009. The Bulldogs' .976 fielding percentage is the second-highest in program history.

Both Georgia track and field's Christopher Morales Williams and Micah Larry have earned annual Southeastern Conference outdoor awards, according to a league announcement Wednesday. Morales Williams, a sophomore native of Vaughan, Ontario, was named the Men's Runner of the Year while Larry, a true freshman native of Harvest, Ala., garnered Men's Freshman Field Athlete of the Year accolades. Morales Williams is the first Bulldog to earn this honor since the award's inception in 2004.  Larry is the third Georgia student-athlete to collect this honor after Maicel Uibo and Alex Poursanidis went back to back in 2013 and 2014, respectively.

The #2 Lady tennis team has 10 members all underclassmen. The Bulldogs are bringing in transfer junior Sofia Rojas as well as incoming freshmen Sarah Branicki and Hayden Mulberry. Rojas, who last played for Oklahoma State in 2023, ended her sophomore season with Academic All-Big 12 First Team honors. Branicki, who comes to Athens from Marietta, is a four-star recruit listed as the Tennis Recruiting Network's No. 58-ranked player nationally. Mulberry has been named the AJC Player of the Year three times throughout her high school career at Walton, where she won three-consecutive state championships.
