Update on the "situation" with the rental house in our subdivision.

Looks like folk contacting the police, which led to the county marshal being brought in to address the problem, has taken care of matters. The county marshal came back, today, to inspect the house. What they found was that:

Bags upon bags upon bags of garbage are still piled up on the deck in the back of the house.
There is no furniture in the house and it appears that there is no one now in the house. We did see a Penske truck there over the weekend. But we couldn't ascertain that they had actually moved, or maybe just moved out one individual, or just hauled off something.
They just went off and left all kinds of stuff/junk. Both garage doors are standing wide open (like they've been for months). All of the junk they have had piled up in there, including 4'x8' sheets of plywood they were using to keep dogs in the garage, is all still there.
A Range Rover with an expired tag (registered in Butts County... we're in Paulding) is still sitting in the driveway.

The property management company had said, back in December, that they had gotten an eviction order issued. I have no idea if the tenants had paid anything since then, or if they were just going to try to ride the thing out as long as they could. I strongly suspect/assume the latter. I guess this situation is an example of why folk should apply pressure by calling the police, otherwise they'd still be in there.

The county marshal is contacting the property management company to inform them of the situation. I guess they can now begin the deconstruction of all that is left behind by these alleged humans who wrecked and trashed the place.

Whomever is the property management should get a serious reprimand from the county marshal, as to who is ultimately responsible for the house, and that it isn't the responsibility of the folk in the neighborhood to do their job for them.

The actual owner's name and address should be in the county GIS system. You can find that online. I wonder if the owner knows how poorly the property manager is managing their property? This could be a case of an out of town "investor" who has bought properties and completely turned management over to the management company and doesn't really care about one house.

Since the house is empty, now would be the best time for a tragic fire to break out if such an unfortunate event were to occur since no one would be hurt.

Heh heh... an untimely fire, of course due to the conditions that were left behind. Maybe the tenants had even began the process of getting ready to set fire to it, but had to hurry off.  

The county has a great online tax map. You just zoom down onto the property/lot you want to see, click on it, and it will populate whomever is the owner. The owner for this particular property is actually an LLC that is based in doggone Connecticut. I've seen multiple houses sell to such companies in the past several years. I know of one that is owned by a company based in Texas, another owned by a company based in California. Situations like that are never good. Problem is, that happened all over the place during this recent housing boom, which I actually give significant blame for the rampant spike in housing costs.

I wonder if the trash is just normal trash, I guess it is and they didn't pay to have it hauled off. I am thinking that house was used as some sort of manufacturing facility or something, drugs or whatever. Maybe people didn't really live there

A few months ago they were piling up trash bags out in the driveway right smack in front of the house (one side over by the garage doors). I mean there were literally like 40/50 bags of garbage out there. Why they wouldn't be having them picked up is definitely curious. For instance, the garbage pickup service we have is a grand whopping $22 per month. The only reason they began piling it up on the deck is because the police were called to them and they were made to get rid of the garbage. That was when we saw them get a UHaul truck and hauled it off. There's no telling where they must have taken it. 

You bring up an interesting point, because we were trying to figure out what in the world they were doing that could create so much garbage. It would take our house at least a year to create the amount of garbage they were piling up in a short few months. Whatever is on those bags... they're still piled out on the deck.

just crazy....I suspect you might see hazmat people out there.....maybe its just chip bags and empty beer cans, but who knows

It is a heck of a lot of garbage. And it isn't the smaller 13 gallon white kitchen bags. These are all slightly larger black plastic bags.

I guess, under the circumstances, we should be happy they were even putting it in a garbage bag at all.
