Beside the exploding meth lab that is Flarda, doesn't look like any of the other 6

Super Regional hosts hosted a team as good as #10 NC State.

aTm had the ducks, please.
The Beav looked weak compared to the wild kitty.
UVA had to deal with Kansas St...FSU with UConn...UT with a guy name Evans Vill....UNC with WVA.

Dawgs had the rudest visitor if them all, imo

Flarda winning that late series might have been where we lost this.  That and not posting at least a few wins in the SECT

As others have alluded to and said, our arms didn’t do us any favors and we did better than we probably should have this season under a first year corch. A LOT to build on and I expect him to have better arms moving forward given his background in producing world class pitchers.

If before the season, with a first year coach and a known weak pitching staff, someone had said we would win 43 games, host a super regional and need one win to go to Omaha I would have gladly taken that.

Anyone complaining about Georgia baseball this season is a total maroon.

What gets me is folks now seeing how much the pitching actually improved this year.  Was it top notch?  No.  But it was leaps and bounds better than the last 2 years.  I've not looked up the stats, but I'd like to see a comparison between walks and hit batters from the last 2 years and this year.  It got us into so much trouble the last 2 years.

And then the one pitcher who had 100 Ks on the season, one of only 3 pitchers to ever do it for the dogs, had probably his worst outing of the year in that game 1.  And it wasn't hard hit balls, that's what's frustrating.  3 bunt singles to get the bases loaded, then he jams a guy who barely gets it inside the bag at 1st for a double.  Game of inches, 1st basement was almost to that ball and probably a double play.

As I said after Kirby's first season.  I see the foundation that's being built by Wes Johnson, and I think it's a good start.  The mistakes we made this year are correctable, it's not a lack of effort or cultural thing.  Cautiously optimistic going forward as I think the pitching will get better.

And I'm gonna need Condon to not make statements like he did last night after the game when he said "whether he's back at UGA next year or not."  That boy knows he's gone.  But would love to see some NIL contributor offer him enough to give it another season.

I only watched the end of the season, but outside of the pitching, the outfield defense looked suspect at best. The RF and LF arms were noodles.

Agree 100%. This was a very successful year given where they were at the end of the 2023 season.  Super-regional?  That is big.
