I read that he was missing some of their tour dates back when Eddie was still playing.

Had not heard that. I could believe that about Roth (per Toasty). He and EVH were not getting along, at all. So I understand, they were never able to reconcile. I guess with super-charged personalities like they had, they were two bright lights where a room could only accommodate one at a time.
I was just now looking at some videos, seeing what was said after EVH passed. I was mildly shocked to hear David Lee Roth say, "You know,
my guitar player passed away." I may be reading too much into that, but it sounds to me like he is taking a bad dig at EVH, referring to him as
his guitar player. Sounds very demeaning in one sense. In case there were any questions, he goes on to say, "He's either in heaven or he's in hell. Or he's in hell, consequently in heaven. Read into that as you wish".
I dunno. Regardless of how badly their relationship may have been, that's pretty darn low-class to say that in a media interview, IMHO.
