If I wuz Kirbs, I'd say "I don't think of him at all", and stay away from the Fish Fry type comments.

IMO the biggest mistake Tech ever made was dropping out of the SEC….I’ve worked with, have Tech neighbors and over the years go to church with a lot of Tech grads…the old guards ( not the mid-east/Asian/female make up of the student body today) and they all obsess with beating UGA…like the good ‘ole days…they don’t seem to understand they are in the ACC….

Last summer when the players reported to fall camp, WSB interviewed Key, standing in front of his players…the reporter asked him his thoughts on the upcoming season and Key said something about looking forward to fall camp competition, etc., etc, then he raised his voice and said , “but we have an ENEMY in our state that we will work 24/7 and give All our efforts to DEFEAT!!!”… I noticed the players didn’t seem to share his enthusiasm, but he said nothing about goals or competing in the ACC.

IDK, maybe he’s appealing to the old guard with deep pockets…and I do think he’s bound to do better than 404 Geoff, but would think he would want to build enthusiasm for the ACC home games and get butts in the seats for more than one game every other year.

GT fans would rather beat UGA than win the ACC..Key is pandering to the old guard.

A-GREED! He should mention how he loves the Gold and has affection for the Navy. That should win several key demographics, imho.

GT fans would rather us lose than them win.  What a miserable bunch of people.

Key is a decent coach, I will give him a lot of credit for putting together a competitive team last year.  And he is saying the right thing to pander to their base.  But if he really wants to build a program, he will in practice forget about Georgia and take care of the other games.  The way you get competitive against Georgia is to build a program by beating the NC States, Virginias, etc. so you build exposure and can attract a decent base of talent.
