I got a JBL Charge 5. It blows the BigDog out of the water with sound quality, especially bass. BigDog battery life never lived up to their claims and charging it takes forever.

I still use the BigDog around the pool at home but the JBL is great in the boat. JBL battery life is staggering too. I think it would last 24 hours if you weren't playing it on full volume.

Yeah. JBL is only way to go. I have a Klipsch that sounds unbelievable, but that SOB has 6 D batteries and weighs a ton. Not portable in the least.
