Pretty hard to wrap your head around our receiving corps not getting more love…

Folks forget we have 2 WR’s returning who were the top targets on their team just 2 years ago in Rara and Lovett.   We also picked up two guys in the portal that both had over 400yds for their teams in Young and Humphrey.  We also picked up a TE that has over 600yds in ‘21.   

None of those even take into account Dillon Bell, Delp or Anthony Evans (who may be the stud of the bunch).  There’s even 2-3 others that could play significantly…Michael Jackson and Luckie.   

Very deep bunch and I think it could be the strongest group on our roster.

I think our TE room is top level but the WR room has to step up in big games. The fact is that Ladd & Brock bailed us out over and over and without them we were a different team. Bell seems ready but we are really going to need the others to take a big leap in development this year. I thought RaRa and Lovett would be much bigger as the season progressed last year and the climb was slower than I expected. Hopefully this is a yuuuge year for them both. And yes I am excited to see what Evans does as well. We need that superstar to emerge or for all of them to play so well that it’s hard for a defense to cover them all. I did not mention Arian Smith.

Others didn’t step up last year because they didn’t really have too.

Lovett will have a big year.

While i agree with what i think is the sentiment of your post, I dont think the WR group is nor will be the strongest group on the roster. While the WRs as a group are better than they have been in a long time and underrated by most, the group does not touch the talent and production at almost every other position group on the team.

Going into the season, QB, IOL, OT, LB, DB, RB are all elite and better IMO that the WR group. I would prolly throw in TE as well based on talent and experience. DL is the question mark for me. WR is NOT a question mark to me and the talent and production should be the highest in quite some time unless Bobo happens....but i jost dont think it has the talent nor production of those other groups.

As an aside, the OL might be the best OL we have had in the Kriby Smart Era and I can not wait for us to maul our way to post season play. IMO the DL and especially the 'interior' DL determines our post season fate.  0 concerns about edge rushing, but in CKS' defense everything centers around the DL whose paws are on the ground. Gonna need some lights to come on and some young pups to live up to their cruitin ranking.

Great post BubbanEarl.  I think the WR group is the deepest with the least amount of talent drop off.   Edge and OL may be arguably similar.    Few groups on any team can go 9-10 deep though.  That’s amazing.
